Hi People,
i've been working getting a SVN server up as its great for tracking project file changes but i ran into some issues with using LDAP
The LDAP server is not mine to control so I have no administrative rights on it.
But it is open for authentication.
System is running on Windows 2008 R2
i'll try to be as coherent as i can as i'm not really familiar with some stuff.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1) Unable to Enable "Use LDAP for uber login authentication" without losing administration
Using Local UberSVNAdmin account,
- Initial setup LDAP... Name, Location with no issue.
- Able to "Get Users from Selected" to add to the Users list.
At this point LDAP Login is OFF, so I created a Temp password for one of the Users (basically my own LDAP username)
Set said LDAP Username as Sys Admin etc
Log on to server using LDAP Username+Temporary local password and all is well. Administration panel is available and all...
Went to LDAP Locations, and changed "Use LDAP for uber login authentication" to enable.
Logout.
Login with LDAP username and LDAP password... Looks fine.
Until.... No Administration Tab.... it disappeared.
I'm still a System Admin though but with no Admin tab.
I cant log back into Local UberSVNAdmin account since it tries to Authenticate the username to LDAP and doesn't exist.
Stuck with no Administration access.
Am i doing anything wrong here?
or missing anything?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
2)LDAP Username is Case-Insensitive.... but UberSVN permissions is sensitive
Wiped installation and did a fresh one due to the issue above.
Setup LDAP settings and such.
Get Users works fine.
"Use LDAP for uber login authentication" remains DISABLED.
When UberSVN Gets Selected Users from LDAP Location, the Username and such are brought over as all Upper-Case. E.g: USER1, USER2, USER3
but since LDAP itself is case-INsensitive... everyone pretty much only logins with lower case. E.g: user1, user2, user3
i have this repository that is set to use LDAP Authentication but using "uberSVN Internally Managed" Permissions.
the user will be hit with permission denied when using lower-case username logins but works fine enough with Upper-case usernames logins.
is there anyway I can
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks everyone!
